What to do if you are injured while working remotely in New Jersey?

1. Seek Medical Attention: If you're injured, the first and most important step is to seek immediate medical attention. Make sure to get the necessary medical treatment and document your injuries.
2. Notify Your Employer: You should inform your employer about the injury as soon as possible. Notify your supervisor, manager, or HR department, and do so in writing if possible. Be sure to provide details about when, where, and how the injury occurred.
3. Obtain an Incident Report: Your employer should provide you with an incident report or accident report form. Fill it out with as much detail as possible and keep a copy for your records.

9. Understand Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with your rights under New Jersey's workers' compensation laws. You have the right to medical treatment, temporary disability benefits, and an award of money for your permanent disability depending on the nature and severity of your injury.  Many people mistakenly believe that they are only entitled to medical treatment and temporary disability, but there is a 3^rd benefit, and that is an award for permanent disability.
